How do I set up Convicta News?
Convicta News is a Telegram Mini App that turns 1,600+ news sources in 20 languages into one personal feed. Setup takes about two minutes: start the bot, pick a language, pick categories. This page walks through each step and tells you what is free versus paid.
1. Start the bot
Open @Convicta_news_bot in Telegram and tap Start (or send /start). The bot offers “Set up your feed”, which opens the Convicta News Mini App — the hub where everything is configured.
2. Get a feed instantly
You do not have to configure anything to see value. New users automatically receive the World-wires preview — a curated stream of world news — so your feed is never empty on day one.
3. Set your language
Pick your language in the Mini App. The interface follows your choice, and the translate setting controls whether news itself is delivered translated or in the original language — you can set it globally, per category, or per source (see the Settings map).
Automatic translation is an AI-assisted feature and is metered during community testing. If it is temporarily limited, foreign-language stories appear in their original language — the feed itself keeps working.
4. Choose your categories
Select the categories you care about (you can start from presets). Convicta filters, de-duplicates, and tags incoming stories, so you get each story once, sorted into your topics — instead of a wall of near-identical reposts. Each card carries a “why you got this” context line.
5. Tune delivery (optional, recommended)
The defaults are sensible, but the feed becomes noticeably better once you set a few things:
- Daily digest — a once-a-day roundup instead of a running stream.
- Quiet hours — pause deliveries overnight; queued items arrive in the morning.
- RSS group frequency — per news group, choose instant delivery or a batched summary every 1–4 hours.

What is free and what is paid?
- Free: the World-wires preview feed, category selection, deduplication, tagging, and “why you got this” context.
- News+ (paid): all sources, your own sources + OPML import, personal keywords and filters, the daily digest, and all languages. During the free-2-months testing period you can try everything. See Pricing.
How fast is the feed?
News processing runs on a regular batch cadence — Convicta is designed to be timely and complete, not millisecond real-time. Treat it as a feed that keeps you current, not a live ticker.
